During the years I have been teaching I have observed how singing lessons are a way not only to improve vocal capacities but to learn many things about oneself and grow on a personal level. ACT & Vocal Coaching is a new Coaching approach created by me that is aimed for musicians and non-musicians, professionals or amateurs, people that know to sing or not. ACT & Vocal coaching combines two of my great passions: the work towards free singing and the search towards personal growth and well-being. Rather than goals, these are paths that can be cultivated and evolve continuously. The ACT approach believes that a successful life is measured not by how many goals we achieve but by how much we are living according to our values and what truly matters to us.
The goal of ACT is to help you achieve what we called psychological flexibility - which simply means learning how to react to what happens to you externally (e.g. events, reaction of other people...) and internally (e.g thoughts, emotions) in a flexible way. Flexible means that instead of trying to control, avoid or fight events (external or internal) that we qualify as upsetting, we learn to approach them in a more compassionate, mindful way by learning to de-fuse from them (gaining distance from them), being present in the moment and open up to them in an accepting way. In ACT we believe that more important than trying to change the way we think or what we are feeling, we should learn to change the context in which they arise and our relationship with them.
